Account Deletion

How Primori account deletion currently works

This page describes the backend behavior currently implemented for account deletion and identifies the remaining decisions that still need confirmation before release.

Last updated: 10 July 2026

1. How to start deletion

Account deletion must be initiated from inside the Primori iOS app. In the app, go to Account tab and use the delete-account action.

Support email is a fallback only for users who cannot access the app: contact@mickaellokhate.fr.

2. Deletion by the owner

When the family-space owner deletes their Primori account, the backend currently deletes the owner's own account record, owned child profiles, owned events, owned growth entries, owned media metadata, owned private R2 media objects and owned private thumbnails.

  • Whole family space: not always deleted.
  • If no other active family members remain: the backend deletes the family document and the family invitations linked to that family.
  • Child profiles owned by the deleting owner: deleted.
  • Memories owned by the deleting owner: deleted.
  • Growth entries owned by the deleting owner: deleted.
  • Private R2 media owned by the deleting owner: deleted.
  • Invitation codes: if the family is deleted, the invitations are deleted. If the family remains, invitations created by the deleted owner are currently reassigned to the replacement owner.
  • Collaborator access: if the family remains, other active members keep access under the replacement owner.
  • Content previously submitted by collaborators: not automatically deleted by the owner's deletion request, because the backend deletes user-owned content by owner UID.

3. Deletion by a collaborator

When a collaborator deletes their own Primori account, the owner's family space is not deleted. The backend currently removes the deleting collaborator's membership and the collaborator loses access to the family space.

  • Membership removal: yes, the collaborator membership is deleted.
  • Loss of access: yes, access to the family space ends.
  • Memories previously contributed by that collaborator: the backend currently deletes the collaborator's own media records and associated private R2 media objects as part of account deletion.
  • Owner's family space: not deleted.

4. Processing, verification and subscription

  • Deletion processing delay: Within 30 days after the deletion request.
  • Backup purge delay: Up to 90 days, depending on the backup rotation cycle.
  • Legal retention exceptions: Certain information may be retained for longer where required by applicable laws, including accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
  • Identity verification before manual fallback handling: When a deletion request cannot be completed through the application, Primori may request reasonable information to verify the identity of the requester before processing the request.
  • Apple subscription: deleting the Primori account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancellation must be completed separately through Apple's subscription settings.
